WINTER
PARKING RESTRICTIONS BEGIN THURSDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2011.
Effective Thursday, December 1, no overnight parking is
allowed on City of Cedarburg streets between 2 a.m. and 6
a.m., except for a maximum of 30 minutes.
SNOW
& ICE REMOVAL REQUIREMENTS - Please
remember it is your responsibility to clear a 4 ft path on the
public sidewalk and adjoining corner areas that abut your
business and/or residential property within 24 hrs. after a
snowfall ends; and to apply sand or salt on the public
sidewalk to permit safe pedestrian travel in our City. Shoveling,
plowing, or blowing snow or ice onto public streets or alleys
is strictly prohibited. Citations may be issued to
repeat offenders.
WHAT'S
A SNOW EMERGENCY? - When a snow
emergency is declared in the City, all non-essential travel is
discouraged and no parking is allowed on City streets
between midnight and 6 a.m. A snow emergency is in effect
for 48 hrs. and during this time day-time parking is
restricted to odd sides of the street on odd-numbered days;
and even sides on even-numbered days. Illegally
parked vehicles will be cited and towed.
PRESCRIPTION
DRUG COLLECTION - Individuals may
drop off unused or out-dated prescription
drugs at the Cedarburg Police Department.
This service is being offered as a way in which to help
eliminate prescription drug abuse, accidental poisonings,
etc. Contrary to previous advice, unused/old medications
should not be disposed of in the sink or toilet because
studies have shown these medications are not being purified
at wastewater treatment plants and are ending up in local
waterways.
ON-LINE CRIME ALERTING & MAPPING SERVICE -
The Cedarburg & Grafton Police
Departments utilize an on-line crime alerting and
mapping service called CrimeReports.com. The CrimeReports service is free to the public and allows
citizens to receive automatic daily, weekly or monthly email
alerts if/when crimes occur near their home, office, local
school, etc. Through participation on this program,
both police departments are demonstrating their commitment
to service and the safety of their residents by making crime

PARKING CITATIONS CAN BE PAID ONLINE through new service.
Individuals desiring to pay parking ticket
fines with a credit/debit card by phone, the internet, or in
person may now do so using Government Payment Services
(GPS). For additional information or to use GPS, go to

1-888-604-7888.
Pay location code (PLC) is 6329 for parking citations.
Parking citation number(s) is required to process
transaction. Service fees are applicable. (MC,
Visa, Discover, Am. Express).
VEHICLE REGISTRATION SERVICES
AVAILABLE AT CEDARBURG POLICE STATION -
CPD has available for immediate issue regular
automobile plates, light truck plates, and motorcycle
plates. The Department serves as an
electronic agent of the WI Division of Motor Vehicles which
allows CPD to process most of the
motor vehicle title and registration and registration
renewal transactions that are available at DMV offices,
including replacement titles, the issuance of license
plates, transferring of registrations and registration
renewals. Customers are charged a service fee
that pays for the software, as well as department personnel
time. Service fees are: Renewals = $10
New Registrations = $19.50 Duplicate Title
Request = $19.50
DNR
REGISTRATIONS AVAILBLE - As
a registration agent of the WI Dept. of Natural Resources, the Cedarburg
Police Department offers recreational vehicle registration service for the
public. CPD uses an online RV
Registration System to enter applications for boat, ATV, and
snowmobile registration. Validation and additional expedited
service fees apply. Call the CPD for additional
details.
